Jiina Maik was an incredibly strong, dedicated and hard working single mother. True single parenting is far from easy and this grant is named in Jiina’s memory as she was a single parent herself in the gorgeous community of Panniqtuuq, Nunavut. This grant has been established to support and be there for single parents who lack support financially, physically, emotionally or mentally. Let’s work together to be there for single parents as being two parents to your child or children is truly inhumane and we don’t wish that on anyone! Jiina loved her children dearly and we want to make sure future parents like her are supported in every way possible! Qujannamiingujusi and thank you to her parents for letting us name this grant after their beloved daughter.
